Read PDF documents on plain Windows 95 — fast, small, native.

Windows Document Viewer is a native PDF reader for Windows 95. No Acrobat, no runtimes, no megabyte-hungry install: one small program that opens PDF files with smooth, anti-aliased text and graphics — and happily runs on a machine with 16 MB of RAM. It also reads multi-page TIFF (including G3/G4 fax), DCX fax, RTF, plain text and EPS preview files, so one viewer covers all the documents that land on your desk.

View

	Opens PDF documents up to version 1.4 with anti-aliased text and vector graphics, embedded fonts, images (JPEG, CCITT fax, LZW), shadings, transparency and blend modes
	Encrypted PDFs too: standard security with RC4 40/128-bit and AES-128, with password prompt and permission display
	Zoom 15–600 %, Fit Page / Fit Width / Actual Size, page rotation, grayscale mode, full-screen mode with slide-show timer
	Progressive rendering: the page appears as it is drawn — no staring at a blank window on a slow Pentium
	Looks right even on 256-color displays thanks to careful ordered dithering

Navigate & find

	Page thumbnails panel and full-page thumbnail grid; bookmarks (document outline) tree; hyperlinks inside documents
	Find text (Ctrl+F) with highlighted matches; select text with the mouse and copy it to the clipboard
	Go to page, Back/Forward history, smart PageDown that scrolls before it flips

Print & export

	Print with page ranges and 1 / 2 / 4 / 6 / 9 pages per sheet, with a live preview; right-click Print from Explorer
	Export any page as BMP, PNG or JPEG, or copy it to the clipboard as an image

The little things

	Acrobat-style toolbar and menus, Document Info dialog (general / fonts / security), tabbed Preferences, recent-file list, file associations dialog
	Full WinHelp documentation with context-sensitive "?" help in dialogs
	Hardened against damaged files — a broken PDF gets repaired or politely refused, never a crash

The download is bigger than our other programs because it carries its own font engine and substitute fonts — that is what lets it render any PDF on a bare Windows 95 install. About 20 minutes on a 28.8 modem; worth it. Each ZIP contains the self-installing setup program — unzip it and run the installer. Freeware — see LICENSE.TXT in the package.
